Had a few problems with same in my rugby days. Repeat injury. Went back too soon and it reoccurred.

In the end, 3 months + gentle physio. I think you've got to step back until it's healed otherwise it never will.

Ouch John!

Have you got a rib support?

Usually elastic with Velcro.

They're not the be all and end all, but it helped me a bit in the first few weeks back after busted ribs.

I had the same concerns as you about painkillers, but was told that taking Ibuprofen is beneficial.

Hope you get on top of it mate.

Thanks Mark.

I'm driving the machines etc but even lifting a full kettle makes it twinge a bit now; bit of a worry.

It's been a year since I broke my ribs and one if them still really hurts at times.

Not excruciatingly so but at times when knocked or touched causes a sharp intake if breath.

Suffered three broken ribs ever, all through work, very painful, really limits you to what you can do, sleeping can be difficult, no cure except rest and taking things a bit easier, lucky for me that i am pretty quick healer and suffered no pain since healed.

get well soon.
