Machinery maintenance

I would just like to promote my garden machinery maintenance business.

Servicing & repairs are at a cost of £12 per hour plus parts for all types of garden machinery such as chainsaws, trimmers, strimmers, mowers.

Free collection & drop off service 25 miles of STAMFORD pe9 lincs

Also have a good number of traded in (used) garden machinery at competitive prices, most of them less than £100 per unit. For this I offer a 50 mile radius free delivery

Thanks

Just as an example !

25 Mile radius free collection and drop off , 50 miles return trip to collect then 50 miles to deliver , 1 hour job = £12 100 miles traveled and say £10 in fuel if you have a diesel @ 50mpg plus 3 hours travel time = £0.50 an hour .

As said, far, far too cheap. You wont make a living and will get a reputation as a cheapskate.

Who are you trying to take work from? Find out their prices and charge the same, just be a bit better in everything you do.

Value yourself and others will value you.

I charge £50 per hour (inc VAT), plus delivery and collection and I am still not a rich man. But I have as much work as I can handle.

And at least 80% of my business comes from within a 5 mile radius. I only collect ride-on mowers from anywhere over 15miles.

Why would they call him a cheapskate? If he does a good job he isn't exactly a cheapskate!! £50 in my eyes is too expensive

on the grape vine and from experience if proper shop etc premises and the like i would expect to pay £35 ph plus vat

if from home in his shed / workshop would £25 ph seem reasonable

theres the VAT to add and also parts to pay for

re Collection etc simply work a mileage charge out taking into account the mileage there mileage back and time away from actually mending other stuff lol if you can get Them to drop off and pick up when its done then all the better

just my thorts we will all have differing ones it also depends if he is doing it a the only job he has or 1 or 2 days a week and still getting his main stay from that this then is a little bit extra as we all love a little bit extra lol

I personally wouldn't get out of bed for 12 an hour.

I think selling time is crap, sell a product for a price. If you told me its £50 to fix my hedgecutter I would think that's ok and I would want you to do it as quick as possible. I wouldn't trust someone who said they sat there for 8 hours trying to fix it and I then have to hand over £96 when they may have smashed it in an hour but felt disheartened that they'd just fixed a £500 machine for £12 labour. I couldn't possibly know how long it took you. I do most of my own repairs but I think my local dealer have a fixed price per item plus parts
