Argocat

Thinking of investing in an Argocat. Most of my work so far would benefit from one to get to places that a quad couldn't

It would have to be second hand to meet my budget. Does anyone have any experience of them, what to look out for, best place to buy them. Ive seen Rattray atv, Walsh and Co.

Thanks in advance

Horrible jumpy back bone shaking things, the older ones have problems with the cogs and chains!

I'd be looking for a tracked dumper instead, yanmar around the ton mark.

Too big for what I need. It's more about the low ground pressure. I've got a power barrow but no good over longer distances. I can't imagine they're comfy though! I've used a softrak a lot in my last job but not an argocat.

As Stephen Blair rightly states chains & sprockets on the drive train are very prone to wear as well as axle bearings. They are situated under the floor and spend their lives covered in mud and water. If you go to look at one spend time closely inspecting them. Also check the drive belt from the engine. Ensure the engine starts from cold and at working temperature and that it maintains idle both when cold and at working temperature. Remember that the machine will have been more than likely driven by someone who has no interest in maintenance. If you find a 'good un' you will have a lot of fun and a great work horse but look after it. ATB

There's a guy who comes over the off road club in one, it gets about ok it's pritty noisy and slow, the tyres don't look very grippy but you can get tracks for them,

Iv got some 4x4 quads that get places the Argocat can't as there very low to the ground and ridged

Like said the already the drive chains n spockets take a beating so have a good look at them

Good Luck, hope it's works out for you
