"He's behind you" Owl

Here is todays Owl, i wasnt sure if owls could rotate their heads through 180 degrees, i hope they can or it will never sell

 

Chainsaw, carving bar and finger sander used, just need to burn the eyes and talons a little and then apply some oil.

Great work Ian. Not sure re the 180 degs but I was told by an expert that their eyeballs are cigar shaped & almost reach the back of their skull so they'd need to be able to check behind? Anyway...looks good to me.

That one can Ian is an appealing form whether its possible or not, should sell easy. Im starting to think about woodfest now, only a few months to go!

Thank Les, yes i have to work on the eyes a little, someone just told me to watch a youtube tutorial on drawing owls, then i would understand how to shape the eye..... thats what i will try

It's a great shape, very nice. Whether or not they can turn their heads 180, I think they can, it looks ace and should easily sell.

Cool, quick Google says they can turn 270 degrees
