Spalted Beech bowls and Oak Columns

I gave a friend of mine (Graham Hall) some slabs of spalted beech and this is the result! The largest one is 24" wide and was, apparently, " a right b@stard pain in the ass" to turn! He uses a VB36 and has turned 9', 10"x10" oak beams into columns for an extension - impressive given the weight.

He has a facebook page, Artforms from Nature, if you want to check out some of his other works. Make an old man smile and Like his page!

Those colloms are awesome how much would something like that cost out of interest

Cheers Mark,

mark, for the 48" x 9"sq porch posts in my avatar i charged £90 for the timber and £200 for turning them.

for big architectural one i'd expect to pay a fair bit more.
