Policeman Shoots Student

Totally agree, never point one even in jest.

Mind you, I think its a doddle to own firearms if you really want them. Its so easy to get a firearms ticket these days. I think they want people to own them so inevitably there will be more accidents therefore giving the authorities reason to ban all firearms from the public.

Our police force are not easy to get a FAC from. I am surrounded by 18 acres of farmland, but because there is another dwelling within 500 yards, I cannot get an FAC. Its also nearly impossible up here to get permission to shoot on anybodys land.

Then start by getting a s/gun cert, no force can deny you that unless you have convictions, and even if you do they may be overcome with a good solicitor on your case.

My advice would be to join BASC, they have inhouse solicitors that will fight your corner.BASC - The British Association for Shooting and Conservation

What a joke. These are the people who are supposed to look after us? And we are deemed not safe enough to own firearms? Anybody who knows guns knows that you never ever ever point one at somebody unless you fully intend to shoot them.

I was taught that as a kid aged 11, when given my first air rifle......

I heard this story and from what i heard it was a confiscated firearm and the guy was loading what he thought were blanks into the gun! Now im not exactly familiar with pistols but i think i know a blank from a real bullet. So anyway he points it at the chap fires and low and behold he recieves a massive stomach wound!

for a supposedly trained firearms user this seems to be a mistake beyond measure! I wonder whether it was a couple of amatuers messing around and thames valley police didnt quite want to admit that a couple of 999 operators manged to get hold of firearms!
