cheers mr leach and dean for woodturning

cheers boys

been thinking about wood turning for many years

originally by wally smith several years ago

then recently by ian leach and dean lofthouse

so bit the stick and bought a lathe

had a few attempts not too good then a lesson with wally and made massive headway

just hope someone else can get inspired

or save me some some nice bits of wood:blushing:

 

much more to lean and many more practices

hope you can tell which was the first attempt

well done bob, as i said before, wood turning saved my dads life, he would just shut the garage door and get away from all his stress and worry of his job, and he has pretty much been paying his bills with the lathe for the last 15 years..yyou will soon be making a goblet with a ring on the stem that cant fall off.

Yeah, grouchy old Woodsman type with a great robotic chainsaw action.

 

Taught me and the gang felling techs etc.....back in the early nighties.

 

 

 

Hows he keeping?

 

 

 

Can't believe that's not propper pork scratchins in the third shot :thumbdown:

he still works though part time

still climbs

tbh that goblet is one of his i can not take credit for it

 

bacon fries or onion rings rule

pork scratchings only come out when boy goes to bed:thumbup:
