Hello all, does anyone out there have any experience of chipping brash with a Heizohack HM8-400 ? I've been offered a site clearance job which would involve a lot of brash from Lawsons Cypress. I'm worried that the brash would clog up my chipper... any help or advice would be appreciated. Tks

Thanks for the reply John.. I'm not sure if mine has pressure assist.. What exactly is it ? I've only used mine to chip softwoods to produce chips for fuel. I've just this week bought a 50mm screen to keep my biggest customer happy, he wants bigger chips for his boiler. I'm thinking that the bigger screen might allow the green brash through the machine easier and not block up.. The brash I'll be dealing with will have a lot of green foliage on it and not much timber..

they will chip brash without blocking no problem, the issue is how well they will pill it through, in the clop of mine above I didn't need the pressure assist..heres a brief clip of some conifer going through [ame]

Pressure assist Is a ram on the side of the top feed rolers that pulls it down to increase the pressure and grip on the brash, can also be used to lift the top feed to help get stuff in in the first place. If you haven't got it you can sometimes put the grab on top of the top feed and give it a little push down to get past a bad fork or just to regain a bit of grip.

Get some pictures up of your setup nd keep us posted how you get on.

Hi Tom, that's great information, what you are chipping in the clip is very like what I'll be dealing with aswell. I found the pressure assist setup on AC Price website, mine doesn't have it fitted but after watching your clip I reckon I'll be ok.. Thanks for the advice

Cheers Tom and everybody else who offered advice, much appreciated. I'm going to have a better look at this job later on today, the weather is nice over here today for a change. Thanks all.
