i just thought @ a 1000rpm it would be enough to thro the chip in to a chip box but not @ 540, as the tp i has on my tractor @ 540 barlwey got out off the spout yet @ 1000rpm it could fiar thro it

No, I put a 6" ducker on the front of my u1000 (the one stevie has now) it had no blower, I ran it at 1000 full bore (2600 RPM), it was fine on woody brash, but conifer or brash with leaves just blocked the discharge shoot. With a blower you can run at 1800 RPM without any discharge problems :thumbup1:

Yes my tp runs at either 1000rpm or 540rpm and yes it's rubbish at throwing at 540rpm but realy good at 1000rpm

That was one concern I had was with wet conifer and if it would block up. Would be a right pig to clean out if I was blowing into a trailer!

I always run at 2000/2200 rpm when chipping

I don't have any problems chipping in the back unless the blades get dull and I've been lazy not changing them and thee isn't a blower on my Ducker.

Really??

Which model Stevie??

I've not seen a front mount ducker without blower for over 13 years, must be a much bigger flywheel than my first 6"er, I had extra paddles fitted to the back of the flywheel, but it still lacked draft

The older duckers ran anti clockwise sky huck our in on the 140l had a blower and no reverse box only blocked when really chucking wet coni through. The more modern duckers run clockwise with an reverse box (gives the option of front or rear mount ) the also run three blades an dual disc rotor with paddles In between acting in its self as a blower

our hf 200 8" weighs 950kg and the older hf720 I think was the model with the blower was about 750- 800 kg
