I forget who it was that bought one of these a while ago, it has certainly been discussed in the past though. I can think of a couple of jobs in the past this would have been a huge labour saver on.

i bought a similar thing fot the pole pruner but it was useless, it wasnt bungied like that, i handed it back, and when you cut a branch you usually need to move it which is a pain when you are attached but the hedge cutting is a diferent operation.

If anyone want to make one I've got two tool support reels like the one attached to the rig with the spring loaded wire coming out of it

^ I've been after one of those, maybe a bit smaller, to attach my silky to my sheath to stop me dropping it all the time. Not the whole frame obviously, just the yo-yo attachment. I got the idea from my girlfriend's yo-yo ID tag holder thing.

These are quite big and designed to support air tools such as a nut runner.

 

Put a silky on it and it would be like a major workout pulling it out

Would that not put more strain on your back? it looks like it is breaking his posture , i would be interested in trying it though to find out.
