if your heart is set on tickets, get your chipper ticket and trailer one or at least be able to tow above 750kg that raises your head above the rest, if you are looking at working for larger companies get your hgv that gives you the ability to drive 7.5 ton plus, this makes you a viable asset to get men and materials to and from site.

As regards to the tickets you mentioned, you would probably be better going for CS 30/31 and then CS38 instead of CS32.

That's if you fancy climbing.

To be honest I'd do CS38 anyway - everyone I've spoken to about trying to get into arb even as a groundie they want 38.

If you're looking for tickets then I'd go 30/31, 38 and then chipper possibly stump-grinder and a first aid course. The more you can put yourself through the more appealing you make yourself to employers.

Try and get a few days dragging brash with firms to see if you like it and they like you.

Have you put a thread up in the employment section? Looked on arbjobs or elsewhere?

Look at getting a CSCS card too

Thanks for your advice.

Thats the thing with changing jobs. I never know why someone experienced at one job earning good money thinks they will get anything like the same money moving to a job they have know experience and takes some time to develop before they are earning their keep.

I would never expect to get anything like the same money when moving jobs - however I'd also like to think that age and 'life experience' is worth something?

This thread seems to suggest it's not a particularly well paid profession
