Alright guys

Just wondering if there is anyone out there who bought a cherry picker with the idea to hire it out as a side business along with running a small tree team.

I am interested in buying a Cabstar 20m hoist to use along side my tree work then hire out when ever I am not using it.

Just wondering if anyone has experience with doing this with regards to insurance etc. Its going to cost 25k+ so want to make sure am not messing up but want to keep business growing

Cheers

How much work would you actually use it for in your day to day and does that work out better than hiring in? No point buying something that sucks money out of the business

There's a guy here in Taupo who did just that. Bought a spider lift brand new. Now selling his tree business as the spider lift hire is more profitable. Granted, it's a completely different country. People are hiring it for Christmas decoration installations, tree work, painting; all sorts.

I have a 23m tracked mewp. Not for sale though.

I did intend to go out on hire with it for many operations, as well as using for my own tree work but been too busy with work to push it, and I will

not hire it out un operated as they are so easy to damage or over load if you don't know what you are doing. It would never come back the same.

I risk my life in the thing, I want to know what it has been through!
