I don't think you will have a problem with any Silky of 300mm and up. For cleaning up though, I prefer a good sharp billhook. The aggressive Silky teeth can snag awkwardly on the small stuff and there is a risk of twisting, whereas a billhook run up the side will trim all the sub-half inch stuff in a single swipe and it happily takes anything up to around an inch and a half. So, Kent pattern would be my choice....

I just bought myself a Cutting Edge Trojan 330mm. Originally I was going to get a Silky but I read on here somewhere that the Trojan was cheaper and just as good. I did 3 hours with it on Sunday, trimming all the lower branches off some overgrown leylandi. Lots of tiny branches that I didn't fancy bothering to try to cut with the chainsaw. Worked well, cut easily - I like it.

I've got an silky ibuki you can have for £20 plus postage, never got on with it as much prefer zubat

I know it's not been too long but I pm'd more or less straight away but have heard nothing and I needed something soon so have now ordered a Zubat 330.

Thanks again for the offer though.
