Armor Prus and Cougar Blue are both made by Donaghy's. I think Nod at treeworker can source both. Might be a bit dear though.

Yeah he has Cougar Blue at £3.00 per metre so pretty much the same as the rest, he's definitely worth calling for the Armor Prus.

I'd prefer to go for whatever combination I can get from one supplier (due to having an 'Exotic'?? Postcode) which probably rules out Cougar Blue and Armor-Prus unless I can get Armor-prus from Treeworker.

Nod is your man.. give him a call.

When im on the wrench i love 10mm armor prus on cougar. dont waste energy bouncing your way around the tree on kern or tachyon..

hrc and 8mm Ap also work great on cougar but you will get less burnt fingers on 10mm

  • 7 months later...

Sorry to hi-jack the thread, but have been trying SRT on tachyon 11.5 - which i find to be pretty bouncy and squares off a bit under my weight (only on srt)

the problem i have is my friction hitch (sirus 8mm) either not biting at all (3 wrap 2 braid), making ascending annoying as i have to grab the hitch in order for it to bite

or, the opposite.. if i use a 4 wrap vt or use a distel hitch with more than 3 wraps, it seems to bind up really tight and become a pain in the arse...

Seems like a few guys are using slightly thicker friction hitch??

thanks

10mm volcano is sweet on SRT, but crap on DDRT
