I like those, to me contrasting materials used together works and the clean lines of the mettle being softened by the cracks and irregularities of the timber gives them the caricature.

Followed a link to some burnt stools that look like Swedish candles half used put out and sanded, bet they sell for a fortune!

I saw the Swedish Candle stool link and know what I'll be experimenting with in the next few weeks.... :-)

Like it, quite original! makes even a poor half log interesting!

 

Charred stools? need to make sure ther don't mark the floor if on carpet.... Good outside or on stone floors though...

I like the look of them. Definitely not for my home as they just wouldn't suit it's aged charms, but I get the feeling they would be appreciated in an art gallery or post-modernist office building or such like.

 

Got to give him credit for creating a new concept...
