Selling a business

A very happy new year to you all.

OK, currently working out weather to sell up my business, due to a change of circumstances over the last year. Small tree business in Hampshire. Hi - Lux (2004), TW 150 DHB, few saws, rigging kit and small gear.

How would one, e bay aside. ( to sell kit individually) go about selling it on? Any advice or offers welcome.

Kit could be sold here on Arbtrader.

If sold through ebay then stuff you are willing to send via courier will go for a lot more than collection only items. I've seen second hand kit go for more than the cost of new.

I think if you're willing to take the time to sell your kit individually you'll make a bit more out of it

Ebay selling fees are expensive in my opinion.

They take around 10% plus 10% of postage cost. Now PayPal is on top of that as well!! If you do free p&p it works out better from a sellers point.

Last year I sold our tractor in the business office industrial section as a classified ad with set price. £10k it cost a hundred pound to sell. Another was sold as buy it now for a little bit less but he paid around £450 in fees.

If it had been listed in motors, it's alot more!

If using ebay take time to work it out.
