The first thing that jumps out to me about that machine is, it looks like the boom has been repaired.

I'd be looking at the quality of the repair very carefully, and more importantly what caused it in the first place.

The repair looks a wee bit suspect and is on both sides of boom so it must of been serious.

Looks a similar year to that eBay option Aspenarb. You find much breaks on it? I won't be asking a lot of it. Just got an awkward site where I want to be able to crane pallets in, as well as dig and scrape

Its a 6 cylinder machine , silky smooth and ultra reliable. Its never had anything done other than service work and the odd hose, it will load over the side of our bulker trailer and can dig into our stockpile of road planings as if it was top soil so its a handy bit of kit to have around . Downside is as said they are slower than the modern equivalent and if you spend a whole day in one you will know you have been in there. For occasional work I would say go for it.

Looking at pallet fork attachments for these size machines.

Forks to fit a machine less than 6t seem unpopular. You can get them on eBay but it's got me thinking.

Is it safe to be using fork attachments on these size machines? Obviously wouldn't be exceeding the machines capacity. It seems to me the dipper is lower to the ground so your lifting capacity has more room to spare. I wonder if the load is not good for the machine though with it being off centre (as opposed to being on slings).
