hi all i need a bit of norway maple for turning and was hoping that someone has a some small specimen or a lump of firewood that i could use...

dry milled boards are obviously preferable but i'll take firewood if its fairly dry.

if anyone has anything then please let me know.

I have some twisty, gnarly trunk rings and half rings that I'm really not looking forward to splitting and I have some three year old straight trunk rings about whose condition I am uncertain. The straight rings must be 16+" dia and 12-18" in length.

Any good do you think?

I have definitely got some 4"x1" in six foot lengths, and possible some 4"x4". it was milled a couple of years ago.

I am heading out there tomorrow, i have a rummage and find out moisture content.

The bigger straight stuff has been in an untidy pile for about three years now, hence my concern about its condition. The gnarly stuff was cut down about 8 months ago.

the first two photos look too far gone to get a normal representation of the unspalted timber but the last pic looks like it might be ok once cut open.
