Wood chipper paint jobs

The main problem with powder coat is that it doesn't like the sheared edges that press and stamp work leaves on the tinwork.

If the machines were "fettled" to address the sharp edges, powder coat would last much better.

Traditional finishes like cellulose and 2 pack don't suffer the same but take much longer to apply so that would never do.

Sorry for derail, back on topic I'm about to re spray mine: grit blast and prime (pylon primer) £150 then take to 'proper' sprayer for topcoat £200. Sound reasonable?

Just check with the guy who's going to paint the top coat that it's compatible with the pylon primer as that is part of a two part system designed for galvanised steel (used to be three part buff primer black undercoat and grey or green grey topcoat) might be better to use decent etch primer paint reactions would spoil your day :)

Thanks for that, we used to get all 3 paints a few years ago and would put all coats on our lorries chassis my mate saw his daf that he did in 1998 the other week and that green topcoat with bits of metal in hadn't budged!

Nice paint job essential, should prob put up before n after when we do mine.
