Hello

Am I right in thinking that you have to use Husqvarna oil in a new saw to keep the warranty valid?

I read my warranty and there's no mention of it having to use Husqvarna oil. I don't see how they could enforce that one anyway.

As others have said don't think its a requirement , however if its a modern A/T saw I would use the best quality synth I could afford . Some A/T saws have been known to nip up on mineral . I mix Red Line Racing with Aspen 4 at 50:1 but that's just me .

What's A/T saw mean? I think the green stihl stuffs pretty good isn't it? Does the redline stuff make your saw smell like a race bike?

A/T = Auto Tune . :001_smile: It did smell racy with pump fuel but since I switched to Aspen there seems to be very little smell at all .

Hi, you should be able to use any of the chainsaw brand two stroke oils, all modern oils are pretty good these days, i've always used stihl oil and i haven't had any problems with that on small and big cc saws, i use to run all my saws on 50.1, but after putting my big stihl in for a service the small engine gent that has been running for years has advised me to change to 40.1, he see's a big difference in chainsaws that run on 50.1 and 40.1, this goes for modern and old saws, i'm now on my second month of using 40.1 and will keep you posted, will be interesting to see what your husky dealer recommends for you to run your saws at, thanks John.
