Black Friday Deal is Dead

This isn't aimed at arb related retailers. Where there are some really good deals to be had if you look.

No, this is aimed at the mainstream retailers and the likes of Amz. Before the 'Black Friday' supposed deals came into being, there were some decent discounts to be had. Now it's £10 or £20 knocked of a rrp of £300-£400. If that makes for great bargains, then durian is my favourite fruit. Is it any wonder that people are reluctant to buy at this time of year; when there's more hype but less % off the goods?

I hate durian in all its forms!

Hi

BF is an American thing, Id be quite happy if it stayed there & stick to traditional UK January sales.

I think some of the Arb retailers got fairly keen prices & can't afford to take much off unless they want it gone at next to no margin.

The retailers are all terrified of losing out by not going with the flow. It's all peer pressure americanisation, look at Halloween, barely mentioned when I was a lad, it used to be guy Fawkes and bonfires. Give it two years we will be celebrating 4th July Independence Day from Britain!

Before anyone over the pond gets sensitive, it's not an anti America viewpoint. I'm just saying how daft the media and the public of not so Great Britain slot in to the sheep race and follow through.

I started my working life at a garden center selling plants and helpful things to grow them with. Now it's like walking through a mini shopping center, restaurants. Toys, furniture, decor, pets, DIY leisure etc.

All of us are taken for suckers.

I just keep my head down and take note if the good genuine deals like chainsawbars do.
