The only Ginko trees I had seen until recently are the ones outside my parents house in Gloucester. Which every couple of years get a abused by the City Council. I wouldn't call it tree work, more like smash and dash. Tried to get some of the wood, to do something creative with, but they weren't interested and fed it all through the chipper. I'm going down there for the weekend but I should think all the leaves will have gone.....

There used to be a good sized Ginkgo at a school we used to garden when I was on the council years ago. I was interested to find it is also known as Maidenhair tree and is related to fossils of ferns 270 million years old and is the last of it's genus with no known living relatives.

I have seen a Ginkgo near me drop most of it's leaves in a very short space of time after a good frost ,giving a similar effect as this ........

Experienced for the first time today the disgusting smell from the fruits of the female ginko , it was raining down with them on top of me and I honestly thought I had stood on dog **** , my friend google tells me its butyric acid ...
