So all the groundy has to do to release pressure is loosen the prussik, then unhitch the Krab, is that right?

I can see the advantages, but how prussik will behave under real pressure I don't know.

Also as Pete alluded to earlier in the thread you couldn't remotely choke it, meaning when you stretch out and loop a rigging line around an end, catch the Krab, bring it back to where you are comfortable then choke the limb a la running bowline.

Yeah I had thought about that.. It has the potential to get really tight I suppose.

 

And your right about the remote choking.. Ah well. It looks good though!! I'm gonna try it anyway... Look out below!!!

Actually, you could continue as usual and just disregard the prussik on the out reach, smaller pieces. It would be good for big bits I think.. No need for slings. Have you ever dropped a sling when trying to tie it? I did the other day and the groundie had to stop to send it back up. With this, it's always on the line!?

I thought the idea behind the half hitch on bigger rigging and the crab to the line on smaller was it's ability to cinch up tighter as it's loaded reducing the risk of slipping? Please do correct me if im wrong on that one as I'm relatively in experienced. Looking that that prussic setup it doesn't look as though it would be able to tighten as it's loaded?
