The tree outline is identical to the old one? Just has that pointed spear branch structure running through it now.

 

Thank goodness the 50th anniversary logo has past by now - "it didn't work for me" - like the old tree that had been napalmed and had died or the tree remains standing after a forest fire

 

So the new logo is the old tree logo with the 50th anniversary spear like branch structure in a more tree friendly colour.

 

Interesting - Obviously just my opinion

 

Hello Gareth, the old tree logo was the basis for the new one but I'm not sure its identical (that said it was our web-man who produced it, with direction n input from the committees etc., n also the same person who did the 50th logo too.)

 

"Interesting" is hopefully good..

The tree is indeed based on the original although Paul is also right that there have been a few very minor tweeks. Having seen a few "other versions" I believe it was right to base the tree on the old logo, it also gives a connection to the past while moving forward. Both the RFS & ICF along with other organisations have changed logos in recent times, some being quite different. Ours is 40 years old so ready for an update!

 

With regards opening the discussion up to the membership on the logo; you guys can't agree if Stihl or Husky's are better, what chance would we have with a logo

 

For anyone who wishes to be more proactive and "have a say" in the association the Media & Comms Committee have space for a few more members, we could do with some new blood!
