Quick LOLER question.

Had a screw gate open on me last week went to sling the saw, thought "oh bugger i've cut my strop" but the gate had worked loose. working over a pavement so could have done some damage had i not noticed and it fell...time to change to an old 3 way me thinks.

 

spend under a tenner and get a new 2 or 3 way

how much damage to saw and what it hits

how much was your saw or even how much was your chain:lol:

I use the crab that came with my tree magic harness on my chainsaw strop too, except I got a nice screwgate. I've also fitted a caritool right next to it so I can quickly clip the saw close to me while I'm moving (the very end of the toolstrop is always attached via the screwgate) The caritools are pretty weak though, I'm waiting for mine to break, the saw to fall then yank on my harness when I least expect it.

Is yours the small or large caritool? Just ordered the large one myself.

I think mine's a small, in hindsight a large one would have been better. Easier to use and the load limit is higher.

The small one take 5kg max and the large one take 15kg max. Hope this is useful.

Mine was already attached to my harness when I bought it at the cirencester arb show. I thought at first that it was another friendly gesture from those adorable scamps at Edelrid to complement the screwgate that was also attached to it. I got home and read the manual and there was no mention of it. I later realised while browsing that it's a separate product made by Petzl.

 

I guess someone was going to buy it before me and thought he'd try and stick a few freebies to it and hope they wouldn't notice.

You may have got it from my stand we put one on every harness to hang them from the front of our marquee, we leave them on as a freebie for all you guys.

whats the tool atachment for the tree magic rated at? what happens when your caritool brakes and it then has to take a snatch load,i had something similar happen with my treeflex and my 200 got battered
