What ever happened to the 240 turntable model?

It was a Quadchip equivelant.

I had a short demo of it last year but it's not on the timberwolf site nor does any-one talk about it.

Did I dream this...?

Ty

My cousin bought one, loves it, got rid of a greenmech 150 to have one instead. Haven't had a chance to use it myself though. Timberwolf are weird as there's a bunch of models I've seen about or on eBay that aren't on their website, never understood that

I heard a local hire company had problems with them cracking up too....

Basically this is a 7-8" chipper built as a 5" chipper to keep it under the 750kg weight. There comes a point where physics takes over.... If that machine had another 500kg in it it would be great, but then it would be a shliesing......

When we got our forst ST6 I wondered at the thickness of the canopy, in particular, thinking that they could have shaved a couple of hundred kilos off to make it sub 750Kg machine.

I think this is probably why they didn't. You've got to go a long way to keep the weight down and risk metal fatigue and cracks. This seems extraodinary though.

I would be letting your dealer get this sorted before posting anymore on here as unless your dealer and TW can come on a respond it is a bit unfair. The newer models have been modified or so I'm told.

To be fair to the op he's only asking if others have had similar issues and it's not like he's making it up as there are pics to back it up. Most threads on this site are slating one chainsaw or another!

In regards to timberwolf they do have a good presence on this site as I've made posts about one of their machines i owned and they've got my phone number from my sig and phoned to see if they can help so for that I think they are a very decent company who I personally would be happy to deal with. I'm sure they'll respond to this thread either by tracking down the op or on here in due course

Timberwolf takes technical issues of this nature very seriously and we will be inspecting this machine to establish what could have caused them. The quality of our products and after sales service to our customers is of paramount importance to us

There you have it, good response.

I've said many times before that back up is such an important factor because down time is costly.

As Tom D said you can only take so much metal out of something before it falls apart, one reason I went away from the light weight stuff.

The amount of cracks on that one machine is pretty shocking though.

I would want a refund not a repair on that.

The thread was heading in the slagging off direction with people giving opinions of what should be done etc with out the company or dealer being able to give their input. Now TW have responded it should be put to bed IMO.
