just flicked through my book (the complete guide to trees, mitchel and more) and can see the one labeled patagonian cypress is a dead ringer...

 

 

i'd be interested in a sample of the timber if it turns out to be that species.

now hold on just a minute there, i said it looked like it, what my eyes see and what is right are two very different things.

 

Ha,yeah i use that one on the wife aswell!
