We've all climbed on prussiks at some stage and I'm assuming that everyone knows of Dr. Karl Prussik who developed the knot during the war due to lack of piano wire, thus enabling him to tune his piano on broken strings.

So was there a system before or was it all free climbing?

Hell fire Im still on my prussik . If it aint broke and all that . Well I have tried blakes , VT GOTTA KEEP YOUR EYE ON THIS LITTLE BUGGER . I always seem to go back to what I know best . Mechanical devices for me are a no no . You no when your friction hitch needs changing . Keep it simple guys .
