I don't really have any planks only a few from the edge where I couldn't quite get a post!

Postage is a killer to get stuff to you as well Steve, when I had that holm oak you were interested in I did get a quote but it was really heavy and the cheapest quote was a pallet delivery at £60!

if there are 10+ft3 then £60 is not a problem in my book. how about i have a pallet of holm and this oak? i can use the normal oak for table legs and the holm oak for my skittles experiment.

It's a tough lesson - I milled a good size oak butt with pin hole borer - the holes do look unsightly - fine for outdoor sort of stuff but not many would want to use inside a house or take the chance of using it inside a house.

You can ask for a partial refund seeing as the damage is there - but unless you agreed to this beforehand the seller may refuse.

Personally I would separate out what is wormy and what isn't. Sell the wormy stuff for whatever you can get for it and sell the premium oak for around the £20 a cube area which is what it seems to go for.

What size English oak are you after then? If it's for table legs more 3x3?

I don't know how much holm oak I still have, been using it as bearers

i'd have 4x4" for my table legs and if the holm oak is 3x3" or bigger and has no splits then i'll take your bearers too.

I cut it to 3x3. I had quite a few lengths but I dunno where they all went. I think there's only four lengths each one about 5'6" long, probably been milled a couple of months

I think I might actually have some 6x2 as well
