Very valid point, but in this case; it'll be rarely used, and when it is used it will only be for very short and easy climbs. Cheap is definitely best for this one

That's for 37m of climbing line (cut 5m off for a lanyard) and 3m of hitch cord (will make 2 prussiks, climb line and lanyard)

 

I doubt the harness will be great for tree work, but for a basic occasional kit it's about as cheap as I can be bothered to find. Comes in around £350 I think.

There are cheap (very basic) climbing kits readily available from some of the forum sponsors which would get you started then you could add to them as & when you decide you need to.

Could forget about the hitch cord and use 3 knot system. But at this rate the order isn't going to qualify for free delivery.
