I'm on the look out for a suitcase generator, it needs to be 2-2.5 kva and pure sinewave. I've looked at Honda but at £1k-1.5k for something that's only going to get used a couple of times a month I'm not keen to spend that sort of money, I've also looked at Kipor again not cheap £500-£1k. So can anyone recommend any other makes that I should have a look at.

TIA.

I went to Hyundai in Pembroke for a look see. I thought there suitcase range looked good even has remote control. No idea how reliable or robust but they have put their name to it. No idea what kipor handbags are like but if they are like the diesels they will be complete crap.

Thanks Steve, the Hyundai's do look good and have got some good reviews.

I've spoken with a local'ish dealer who got an ex demo Honda for the right money I'm off to take a look at it in the morning.

Everything honda make is very good ( apart from formula one engines ) I did hear a few moans when honda moved the manufacture of small genies to China but I have no experience as I tend to work on the big diesels.

I got a 2KVA Hyundai a couple of years back & opted for the remote starting option, never let me down yet, payed approx £600. Compared with the Honda it's heavy but I can live with that due to the saving.

I've got the Honda to look at in the morning but a little more snooping brings up the SDMO suitcase fitted with a Honda engine. I'll have a look at one of those tomorrow as well.

What did you plump for in the Eggs?

i'm veering towards Hyundai 3KW at the moment.

I got a Honda eu20i, I think it's called! Strong money for what I need but I've been caught out buying (A good cheap one) in the past.

It's a bit overkill for what I need, might come in handy if I can pursued Mrs Egg to let us buy a narrow boat over the winter, mind.:001_rolleyes:
