Can you work a flail mower of the Norcar Rob and how is it on rough ground? On the tree work side of things its more rings we are dealing with rather than whole limbs and some, but not all of the sites are tight on space. I am thinking that if there was a machine that could mow well (the area for mowing is rough) and also be used for lifting rings, small limbs etc, then that would tick most boxes for me. Some type of a shovel grapple would work well I think. I got some info from vermeer and although the S725 and S800 look the business they are well outside of my budget. There seems to be a large selection of compact tractors for sale, and at the moment i,m leaning towards this option.

Thanks :confused1:

Yes mate, you can get a fail mower for these machines, they make two different widths and may other tools. The machine works fine on the rough, but we are going to get the tyres water filled in the morning. Also we are going to get duel wheels front and rear to aid stability so we can get the best out of this small machine. Plus it saves the cost of rear weights.

On Monday we are going pick a large Elm butt, I'll post some pics of that job.

If you near Aberdeen you wold be welcome to see our machine in operation.

Cheers Rob

Thanks for the offer Rob,

I'm based in West of Ireland so unfortunately I will have to pass on that. The National Ploughing Championship is on next week so that will be a chance for me to see a range of compact tractors hopefully and mowers. Not sure if there will be anything in the line of mini skid steers though. Alan

Hi rob I wouldn't mind a nosey round it some time. Where about in Aberdeen are you?

Guss hi, we are are in the Midmar area, between Westhill and Banchory. As this is the first of these machines in Scotland we have told the importers Norcar UK that we would do demos in Scotland as they are so far south, Bath-Bristol way.

These are new machines into the UK but are very well made, so much so the M.O.D. are having a good look at them.

Please have a look at Norcar and (Moorend UK) Norcar UK on the net/youtube, look at the track systems Moorend make

Drop me a line, we can come to you or you can come to us.

All the best, Rob

Hi Alan, there is a Norcar Dealer in Ireland, Cashels Engineering Aghamore, Ballyhaunis Co Mayo. Hope this helps, yes the only way to find the machine for you is to get to the shows and go from stand to stand, get body panels off and get into the guts of the machines. It took us about three years of looking before we found our machine and bit the bullet. Good hunting, Rob
