Don't use Ibc, proper crates with sockets for forks and a rotator

Get it right first time I have learnt

Do as r5log says and do it right from the start or do what I did.

And pack up and do something else. Margins are too tight in logs to fanny about the profit is in the efficiency.

Sound like your on top of it bud.:thumbup1:

Things are improving for sure - thanks. It's been a VERY long hard road, like the rest of the serious contenders!

Built ours with a 3rd arm at the side, but as R5 said it can be a pain.

Next year depending on containers we use may alter to a top bar like the spud boys.

Needs to do 2m spud boxes and IBC I expect. :thumbup1:

IBC's are great if finances are limited to use in a Kiln until you can afford decent stillages with fork boxes.

Spud boxes are great for storing dry timber, better if able to hold 2m3.:thumbup1:

It may be worth doing a search for logs in hurstbourne tarrant. There is a gentleman there that uses a woodmizer to make his own 3 cu metre crates then has a rotator on a 3 tonne jcb telehandler. His tipper load is 3 cubic metres.

Frank Haighton has some business there - he must have worked his fingers to the bone to get where he is today ! - I'm jealous :001_cool:
