That's because back then it was a top of the line tractor

 

Now a lot are relegated to yard scrapers. Yours is clean though

 

I think some point David Brown was most selling tractor in U.K and it sell quite good here in Finland and all over the Europe too.

Still today it looks quite modern design. :001_smile:

We've had two 1390 two wheel drives and a 1490 4wd over the years good little tractors and run on fresh air, always wanted a 1590 or 1690 though :thumbup1:

 

I have to say that I also dreaming about 1690 but good like this one is hard to find or they are too expensive...:mellow:

A friend of mine is looking at a David Brown 700 series at present. It needs a new clutch but it's not a bad price. It looks just like that one.

It must be a 1690, those time it was big tractor, now days average tractor hp is almost 150 hp...
