They will usually be back in 3 months or so as by then you've replaced your gear... I don't know anyone out there who has not had gear nicked... Nothing worse IMO

That is proper crap mate. Like someone said- go down the market, local pubs etc and put the word out that you are after some iffy saws cheap.......you never know what you will be offered. This sounds very like junky chancers not pro thieves.Good luck

buy a safe large enough to hold your saws even if it means taking the bar of larger saws ,look on ebay LARGE SAFE !!

 

I got my site safes from my local tool hire shop there made by Birchwood and they do verious sizes

An old gunsafe would do the trick as well, without needing to take off the bars. Normally plenty on Ebay.

 

As to the chipper quest, we do have plenty of marshland and secluded creeks down here if a substitute is needed )

old shipping containers seem to work quite well, can be fitted with extra alarms as well!

The trouble is an alarm is only any good if it's monitored. My container is miles from anywhere so no good at all. Some muppet (me) managed to lose the keys for it at sompoint and with a whizz wheel is only took me about 10 mins to get in. You've just got to make life as hard for the scum as possible. As I cover large areas I also try to make sure my kit is spread out so I won't lose it all if some gets knicked. Doesn't help when your big saw is 200 miles away though..............

yeah good point, weve got a shipping container, inside the units, on a farm, with guys living onsite, that are always about most nights shooting things. That works pretty well!
