Aspen cans

We are mowing yards so have better storage. I thinking about a barrel again. Can someone recommend a decent pump please or is a tap best? Cheers

Apart from not having the cans to recycle one drum will cost £40 delivery and the metal pumps we sell cost around £200 but will last.

 

Add that to the time spent handling and the risk of dirt contamination before decide the drum is the cheaper option.

 

Pumps can be supplied by your local Aspen dealer.

 

Don't forget dealers offer free delivery direct to you on a pallet (54x5 litres) and discount. so per litre it works out cheaper to buy 270 in 5 litres than 200 in a drum.

Eddie is spot on, a barrel is not as cheap, or as convenient, as you may think

 

On the basis that we deliver 54 cans (pallet) with free delivery, after discount the price (inc vat) per litre is £2.85

 

But one 200 litre barrel incurs a £40 plus vat (£48) delivery cost, making the price per litre £2.81, only saving 4p per litre over cans.

 

When you consider the cost of the pump, the time taken decanting before leaving the yard, and the chance of contamination (as well as a little pilfering) I reckon its much better to stick with cans.

 

Of course, if you buy 2 x 200 litre drums we will deliver free, making the PPL £2.73, saving 12p per litre over cans.

I buy in 205lt drums and get free delivery of fr jones so yes it does work out cheaper and for me far more convenient than having loads of plastic cans around the place, I wouldn't get away in household waste either.

Hand pump josh, cast me 15 quid and fills a combi can in 30 seconds.

 

I then use the drum as a fire bin or scrap bin and weigh it in.

And remember its a little more difficult to get the mix of Aspen2 and Aspen4 when you buy by the barrel. However, buy one barrel of each and get free delivery.
