Did your mate use the primer in the 560 ... Interesting though as on the last relatively hot day up here one of the 261's went pop whilst the 550's carried on going and I now have a tendon sticking out my hand that's probably been rattled out by the 460...

went to buy a husky and walked out with a stihl!

 

 

 

that should be a lesson to every chainsaw user that stihl will always win every day! and also that husky's should not be used whatever!

 

 

 

they dont even make one that works in the sun! leave it in the sun and stuff, what a pig to start. had a mate using a brand new 560xp when it was mega hot, left in the sun and it was a pig to start all day! but as for my 271 and 460, ha just a dream all along!!

Only Stihl worth owning is a topper, they used to make really good big saws too, but now only the biggest is a decent ground saw. Husky is better from 50-95cc now.

I think it came down to personal preference in the end.. I know stihls and am comfortable around stihls. Never had a husky, was told I had to use their xp oil when I've already got a tub load of green stihl.. Wasn't too keen on the 550 in my hand. Also, I'm not a pro user so it won't be getting beasted all day every day, so I'm sure it'll do just fine.

They're the dogs! I got one of the first ones, it's also the only unmodified saw I own that hasn't got warranty (just bought a 201t-m).

It's so light that my mother can use it to cut (she had a triple heart bypass last year), it's very quiet (sometimes I don't bother with my muffs so I can communicate) and it drinks very little fuel!

I know right, I'm trying to get the part numbers for the USA deflector muffler, as I don't like random holes in the muffler (even though the 357 is like a colander), and I haven't had time (362xp and 385xp are still in bits)

Personally I've never had any issues with 'Stihl' and I've used them almost exclusively over the years, I have only recently got my hands on a husky or 2 and I have to say I'm not overly impressed with em, I used a 435 for 3 days on the trot during my felling/crosscut/maintenance course and then spent the next week or more paying for it as the pain in my arm was so bad I could barely lift a pint 'o' beer up !...

That's a little domestic one! Try a 550 or 560 and you may change your mind
