i'll try and show you next time I see you stevie... I tried to commit it to memory when I was taught it but have never used it..

Seems to be handy for emergencies and even for temporary anchoring whilst adjusting rigging or main line.. if I get a chance this week i'll get a rope up in the shed and see if I can remember how to do it..

piece of p**s, do a fig8 on end of your line leaving say a metre tail, throw the rest over your next crotch,(or pull it over with throw line) , tie in a blakes with the metre tail, work both ends if you need, great fun!

If you are concerned your next crotch up is likley to snag your fig8 when you throw it over, take the knot out throw the tail over and then tie it again,helps retrieve a bad throw!

I never really forget anything of necessity. The truck is setup with everything needed to do standard tree work.

 

Two truck boxes hold everything. Saws and blowers go in the chipper infeed, or the truck bed. Any job out of the ordinary is when I have to add things. Maybe an extra rope, rake, yada yada.

A Blakes is simple to do just using your climbing rope or for climbing using both ends.

Last week I left my Lunch and drink behind.I hate it when that happens.

im terrible for forgetting kit, in the 11 months ive been working on my apprenticeship, ive forgotten.

Combi can.

Ladders.

Longarm.

Rake.

silky.

hedgetrimmers (forget to take em to the job)

and my biggest mishap, not taking the handbrake off the chipper, hmm whats that burning smell ooooops, luckily all was fine after a bit of smoke.
