He couldn't have been that hungry or he would have stolen food not a bottle of wine. I would have turned round and taken him back to were he nicks it from. This time wine net time something else. On the road to nowhere even if you know him or not giving him money won't help in the long run.

Drug addicts don't think about food first!

I should have given him a good kicking.... That would have sorted his problems out!

I know giving him money won't help in the long run but, it's not my style to see him struggle. Maybe we made his problems worse?

I used to work on the canal towpaths through London and ive seen the lot, drug addicts , wino,s etc. I used to think they were all scum/wasters until one day I sat down and spoke to a couple of them, totaly changed my outlook towards them, they all had stories of bad luck as to why they were where they were. Wife dying of cancer/child death etc. How would any of us cope with our kids/family being killed, a lot of the people mentioned on this thread could of gone through this and turned to drink/drugs. well done eggs for at least t thinking your not better than them:thumbup1:

As human beings we all have a natural instinct to help others but for every 1 genuine person on the street through no fault of there own there are 10 who wish to choose to be there cause they are total wasters and thieving scum. I treat them all the same now as I used to be that kind giving person until that person I helped stole my some of my kit to sell for next to nothing just to fed his habit. Never trust anyone who don't know what the hell they are doing half the time and haven't got much to live for. Sounds harsh and it is. But done my bit and got stabbed in the back for doing it. We all have sob story's to tell and been to hell and back. Good job we all don't throw the towel in when the going gets tuff.
