Santander have a good system. Move some money electronically it disappears from your account but doesn't reappear where it should. Presumably they work with it until they see fit to pass it on.

 

And likewise in reverse. Pay from Natwest into Santander and it goes on holiday for 3 months!

Never forget, banks are in the money business - primarily for themselves.

 

Very true but as I have now paid off my morgage etc, I am quite happy for them to work with my money, but I expect something in return. We have found Loyds better than Barclay's or Sandander. They did make a mistake setting up a dd once and put £100 in our account as compensation. All branches obviously vary but we have found our local Loyds very good.
