Wholesale bulk firewood ideas

How come people dont understand volume of timbe??

I dumpy bag/buliders bag cant hold 1cm3 of logs unless it was 1mx1m sq log of wood . Its like ive just seen an advert on ebay claiming you get 2.8cm3 of. Loose logs in a 2m x1 m create, how hell they work thar out. .. 1.5cm3 max I reakon.

Having been there and done that, have had the logs out of a stacked crate and bagged them loose just to compare volume then a 50% uplift loose compared to stacked is in my experience about right. Done it several times just to make sure, even emptied one into barrow bags and got 8 of them nicely full. So getting 2.8 cu m loose from a '2 cube' stacked crate which is actually about 1.85 cu of stacked timber seems pretty plausable.

The 2 cube crate again is external dia and includes the dimensions of the pallet below, container shipping means the size is restricted by what fits best within the container. As there is only one pallet you would get slightly more timber in a 2 cube as opposed to 2 x 1 cube. But handling them at point of final delivery is a nightmare unless you are tipping them out into a trailer and doing a tipped bulk drop.
