Geoff, It's not just your truck that's full of peat. Can you unload your inbox at the same time?

Touche!:biggrin:

Yours needs a clearout too...:lol:

I got your message mate,and a big thanks, I'm on top of it all so no need, but I will pm you tomorrow anyway as I fancy bringing Silly Sally, my lovely controller, up for an ice cream.:001_smile:

Ok, I lost my father last Monday, tough times.

Then I went & did this.....:blushing::stupid:

I committed a heinous mistake yesterday....now don't read on if your not fond of dark humor, but I am working with my nephew 'tim tom' getting things straight at my father's house, where we are having his funeral based from.

My father's name is Peter, rest his soul, he always said,'just chuck me in a hole when I go'.

He has a 4 acre garden, so we have a lot of work to do there to please my mother & two sisters & get it looking pristine....

Anyway, I'm over there with my digger & truck, spreading the drive, Tim tom had just got back from the garden centre with a ton of compost type material,in my truck, & was setting off again for some pea shingle, the women of the family were having tea on the porch, organising us, as they do, & mutton head me, on seeing Tim setting off without having unloaded, shouts out to him;

'Tim, Tim, stop'...he retorts, 'Why'?

Then I go and say it, at the top of my voice.....' You've still got Pete in the back of the back of the truck'!

The wailing that ensued from the porch resembled a siren's fish market!!!:001_rolleyes:

If this can cause a laugh or smile to cross a few faces here I'm a happier man for my errant ways....:001_smile:

:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

Nice one

:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

Would "a celeberation of a life lived" be an appropriate comment?

PS.

My 84 year old, and ailing Mother recently asked me to stop by the local Undertaker recently to leave in a bequest for a recently deceased relative.

I dropped her off at the door and sat myself back in the car, when I saw Mum re-emerging from the "shop" I got out to help her back into the car.

The undertaker, after my mother was safely in behind the closed door then asked?, "And, how is your mother keeping?"

I merely replied that I understood his professional undertakers judgment, should be a better judge of my mothers life expectancy than any relatively uninformed opinion of mine.

Which I repeated to my mother when I got back in the car, having noted the quizzical look on her face.

She, my Mum, proper snorted with laughter at my account of our exchange.

Sorry Geoff, I missed this thread. Been busy back filling trenches today.:001_rolleyes:

On a more serious note I'm sorry to hear about the passing of ya old chap.

Hope the funeral goes as well as it can, I'm sure it will be a tough day. Stay strong mate.:thumbup1:

Thanks to you all, I never thought the old man passing would have much of an impact on me if I'm honest, it was his time, & I was prepared, but it knocked me a corker.

Just goes to show, some things, you just can't predict how they play out.
