What is this pedal for on tractor?

It is a diff lock as said.

It locks both rear wheels together so they both turn the same speed. Helps you get out of mud when one wheel is slipping.

Often gets stuck down when used. Once out of mud you need to back up a little to help the cogs come apart again.

Very difficult to turn corners when it is engaged so only use it if going in a straight line.

Hi PEA all so as you say they can stick in as they may be seized just read reverse backwards that will disengage it if it's not seized BUT you no if it still in diff lock as you turn sharply The world will start to scoff So you will to get it out off diff thanks Jon

I thought it engaged the flux capacitor as it was getting dark in November at 3 pm when the sleet is coming down side ways and you forgot to deliver to 3 customers.

I see what your saying but no it's for the diff lock.

It locks both wheels together when you get stuck in the mud or start to lose traction on slippery ground.

Just in case you still had any doubts. :001_smile:

I also thought it was the diff lock, but kept quiet thinking that the question had already been answered. BTW it's used to lock both rear wheels to get you out the mud when one wheel is slipping:biggrin:
