Stihl ms150, My opinion

I was going to buy a ms150 but ended up buying the Makita 22cc top handled saw . Knocked the primer off on my second climb ? After I super glued it back in place its been excellent . The only reason I didnt buy a 150 was the reported problems with the attachment point . Oh and the price difference . Makitas little plastic clip ain't no better . Glad your enjoying life with the 150 . These little pruning saws sure make a day in the canopy easier on the joints and muscles .

Had a 150 for a year now - purchased new. Like all Stihls loosened up after a dozen tanks of fuel. I'll use it to cut branches as big as the guide bar - okay, so at those sizes it takes longer then a 200 - but speed up a tree isn't always a good thing - it has stopped me mid cut on a few occasions, just by giving me more time to think about whether what I was doing was right.

Too true there WN. Been using 150 for 2 yrs for most things, very capable saw and as you say, easier on joints and muscles. Bought a 201tcm at arb show and so far proving great saw with power like the old 200, but boy do i notice the difference in weight.

Love the 150 but try a 192t with a carving bar on! The 200t is now almost redundant.

i have a 22cc makita saw too. can't fault it, lighter than the 150 and it'll run a 1/4 picco chain lik ethe 150 too. strop is round the handle though, not he strop attachment - don;t trust it!
