I can remember reading on here that some of you guys sell chip in bulk. I am now dumping my chip at the farm up the road and have plenty of space. I will have a large pile every now and then which could be taken away by artic as we have a loader here, its all on a hardstanding and there's plenty room for trucks to turn, park up etc.

So does anbody want some? or know who I should contact? its 5 mins from A1 35 miles south of edinburgh.

Cheers

Tom

FWIW Nearly all the major chip buyers sell to AW Jenkinsons, AHS are part of AWJ.

SHREDCO aka Steve Owen will give you the best rate.

21.00 delivered in is rubbish unless you are close.

IC Trees, play hard ball will Charlie or Neil they love it lol, push for at least 6.00 a ton not a penny less.

For those who don't know I was a Contracts Manager for AHS before they made me redundant. AHS are middle men they pick up your chip stick it on someone elses lorry (usually Jenkinsons) for a fixed haulage rate and then send it into the powerstations.

In the South of the country they will be getting about 10.00 a ton for the chip and from The Midlands North between 11-16.00 a ton so they have room to give you a bit for the sake of a few phone calls on their part.

I prefer SHREDCO as they aren't tied into an expensive haulage deal and can mostly give you a much better rate for your chip.

Tom you could try Pentland Plants at Loanhead, they are in the woodchip business but don't know if they take arb arisings. You could also try Jenkinsons at lockerbie.

Pentland Biomass will sell on to AWJ, if it's good quality and close they will take it for their own plant but unlikely tbh as they have their own JENZ HEM 560 which the produce chip for their own needs with.
