I have been using the 540xp since last autumn on a fairly inconsistent basis. The last 2 times it has been used a fuel line has blown, the same line at the same place each time. It happens if the chain break gets pushed while cutting. To fix it the whole handle, carb and choke need to be removed. Has anyone else had this issue?DSC_0801.jpg.969dbc1f85dc6ee8d24caac97b8cacf8.jpg

If its the impulse line it can get stretched if you drop it on the strop and pop off / split . Maybe thats what is the cause ? .....possibly ?

Thanks for the advice. I don't remember dropping it onto the lanyard, I guess one man's drop is another man's lower.

Next time I have to remove the handle to reconnect the impulse (not fuel) pipe I'll take a closer look to see if there is any obvious damage.

It is possible for the pipe to split where it fits to the connector, anyway as it has come off more than once you need to replace it.
