My advice about getting a caravan across the channel would be to test it's usefulness as a ships anchor.

 

When you realise that it is not effective, cut it loose and enjoy the rest of your holiday in a fine hotel.

 

Enjoyment will also be found from knowing that you are no longer despised by all other road users.

 

Safe trip.

not bother ? why is it not a nice area ?

 

Its a nice enough region, there are a lot of other regions which to me would be much more desirable to visit & the 100Km or so trip would be over & done with in a couple of hours, if you're going to cross the channel for a holiday you may as well make the most of it & see a bit more (IMO).
