Great truck, I have had a few, never had issue.

Make sure it sits level at the rear and the air suspension all works it the different height adjustment switch

Sunroofs tend leak.

Stay away if it's got no service history.....

They are excellent at towing.

Had an 03 ES, bought at 112.000 sold at 262,000. auto with cruise.

Good machine, will need replacement injectors at 180k, there is an electrical cable that goes from the engine management ECU to the engine, oil wicks uo the inside of the cable and gets into the ECU where it promtly stops the engine. A well known prob as detailed above but cleaning the ECU out is a short term fix. The cables are not that expensive. About 26mpg, less if towing. Other than that feed it semi synthetic oil and it should go for 300k without any major props although manual gearboxs can be a bit sus, autos are far better.

The chassis can rust badly on some (from the inside) above the rear axle, and from there back to the rear crossmember. Check carefully in these areas.

Disco 2s have some well known problems but overall are possibly the best true multi purpose 4x4 yet produced (at least IMHO).
