Land Rover needs some new wellies

Funnily enough I am thinking of changing mine to a less aggressive all terrain pattern, I reckon if I got an extra 30 miles per tank that would have saved me around £900 over the lifetime of the tyre. I can always take the tirfor if I think I am going to get stuck. I do so many motorway miles these days that I can't really justify the noise and poor economy of mud terrains for the od occasion that I go off road. IME in a lot of off road conditions all terrains are just as good as muds....

Discuss... any suggestions. I have always like the BFG all terrain....

Hi tom used to like track edge BFG 50% mud 50% road good tyres not made now they last to long thanks Jon

The AT's always amaze me how well they grip, I have never had a problem getting off the fields towing the crane trailer loaded, I wouldn't bother with muds again.

If anyone is interested in buying or swapping a set of 33 12.5 r15, 3 are bfg mt's and 2 are cooper discovers for a swap with 265/75/16 give me a shout.

They are too loud for me.

Goodyear duratracs for me. At patern up the center and a bit more of a mud patern at the edges. Been in a deep muddy field towing a chipper. Started spinning up, where the ats would get stuck, the duratracs slowly found the grip and for me out of there. Good on the road

These are a cheaper alternative to Duragrips and get some pretty good reviews from down under.

Yup, I run them. Absolutely bomb proof, well behaved on road and very impressive on mud, wet gravel slopes etc..

I ran on Kuhmo KL71s for 50k miles and they are very good tyres, don't last as long as BFG KM2s though. The other thing I wasn't keen on is that they are unidirectional, whereas the KM2s are not.

I've heard good things about the new BFG AT KO2s but the range of sizes is more limited at the moment, and there seems to be no intention to make them in 255/85 x 16, which is a great size for the Defender. :crying:

I need new boots for the 110 at the moment and will probably go for KM2s again, the current set has done just over 100k miles and is down to 10mm tread.
