cost to ship a container from usa to scotland?

im currently looking at options on upgrading our sawmill. has anyone a rough idea of the cost to ship something like this?

Our guys ship a 40' container from the Netherlands to the UK a few times a year. it costs £1k approx.

2.5K is a number that springs to mind but I may have made it up?

I know someone who imported a car inside a container from USA to Southampton and it was just under £2000 for the shipping.

Where i work we ship in approx. 2 containers a month from Canada to UK at a cost of roughly 2.2k, using UPS. Thats including all the customs fees, and lorry costs from the port to our premises as well. It migh be worth giving them a call.

 

Apparently DHL are pretty reasonable as well.

I think it was about £2500, but we did have a poor exchange rate.

I used: Kuehne + Nagel before.

They were very helpful, and i think it was in the region of £1500 for a 45 foot shipping container.
